Founding the Domaine in 1992, Arnaud Ente has gone from becoming one of the rising stars in Burgundy, with a cult following, to now sitting on the top table of Burgundy Domaines.

Mouton is a wine that almost always impresses me with its power and opulence.

Last November I made the pilgrimage 30 minutes' drive northwest of Auckland to the iconic winery Kumeu River. This was over a decade in the making, having drunk and sold these great wines for most of my working life!

2008 was a cool continental year, despite the challenging weather in first half of the year, a cool and dry autumn allowed a fruitful, plentiful harvest to create classic styled Champagnes: refreshing citrus aromas up front while keeping impeccable balance and finesse with the thirst quenching acidity and subtle notes of dried fruits and toasted brioche.

Over the past few months, we have sourced a lovely collection of Clos des Lambrays that offers you a glimpse into this great vineyard.

We have recently received some mature Shafer Hillside Select. These aged Napa wines are the perfect fit to warm our friends’ hearts around a delicate feast at home.

The 1994 vintage in Napa Valley is widely considered excellent. A long and cool growing season enabled the grapes to develop complex flavors and ripe tannins.

The festive season is coming up and we would like to share with you what we will be drinking. Enjoy!

This is a domaine that requires no introduction. The legendary Vosne-Romanee estate of Domaine de la Romanee-Conti makes the most sought-after wines in the world from an enviable collection of Grand Cru vineyards.

Pingus is only available in very limited quantities and is not priced for everyday drinking. Fortunately, the domaine’s second wine - Flor de Pingus is produced in larger volumes which makes it more affordable and an excellent introduction to the first wine.

Although Burgundy seems to be in the headlines at present, with the temperature dropping in Hong-Kong, it is the wines from the Rhône and Châteauneuf-du-Pape in particular, that gets my heart pumping! These exuberant and rich wines radiate the heat and herbs of the south.

Domaine de la Vougeraie was established in 1999 when Jean-Claude Boisset combined various vineyard holdings under his negociant business to form a new high quality Domaine. Although a Domaine that might not yet be in the limelight, I highly recommend focusing your attention on these great wines.

Domaine Bernard-Bonin was founded in 1998 when Veronique Bonin inherited Meursault and Puligny Montrachet vineyards from her grandfather, who ran the famous Domaine Michelot. The Domaine has quickly become a reference point in Meursault and should not be missed.

As the Autumnal chill sets in, my appetite for richer meat to warm the soul arrives! A hearty lamb stew works as a cold weather fix, and it's a dish that pairs beautifully with Syrah.

Domaine Chave has a history going back to the 15th century and from the hill of Hermitage, they are famed for crafting one of the finest Syrah in the world.

Two Burgundy domaine’s that have really caught my attention at recent tastings are Domaine Perrot Minot and Domaine Fourrier. I was incredibly impressed by the purity of fruit in these wines that offer so much seduction and charm!
