Casanova di Neri - Il Poggione - Lisini - Poggio di Sotto - Soldera

Casanova di Neri
Casanova di Neri This property is located in the Eastern part of Montalcino, known for its rich and intense style. Tenuta Nuova is a single vineyard wine that is made with passion and meticulous work. I recently enjoyed the superb 2006 vintage and it is drinking beautifully now, with aromas of dark fruits, dried flowers, and spices. For the 2012 vintage, it offers an intense sweet cherry bouquet, floral scents, and other layers of complexity such as tobacco notes that will age gracefully.

Il Poggione
This is your quintessential Tuscan estate, consisting of a farmhouse surrounded by rolling vineyards and olive trees. It produces a great value Brunello that one can enjoy daily. Juicy, aromatic, and easily paired with all kinds of cuisines. This 2004 vintage has to be tried.

Lisini
Located in the Southern part of the region, Lisini is renowned for its alluring fragrance and enticing fruits. This 2009 is showing notes of blackberries, tea leaves, and sweet spices. The tannins are very soft, making it very easy to drink.

Poggio di Sotto
Located on the South-East side of Montalcino, Poggio di Sotto is overlooking the Orcia River. The estate enjoys a stellar reputation for its high-quality Brunello. The 2011 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is stunning. It shows attractive red berries, rose petals, mixed herbs, and a touch of truffle characters. With a very limited production of 4,000 bottles, make sure to enjoy one before they are all gone.

Soldera
Case Basse di Gianfranco Soldera, simply known as “Soldera” is the definition of iconic. This famous Brunello, which consistently ranks at the very top of the appellation, is known for its meticulous attention to detail and very low yields. The 1999 is opening up nicely with stunning floral aromas and delicate red fruits. On the palate, the wine is silky with a persistent finish being concentrated yet with a sense of elegance.

Whether it is discovering this region or just enjoying it, the mastery of the expression from the Sangiovese grape is truly unique from these producers. Enjoy and cheers to Montalcino!
