We always try to keep a range of vintages of the First Growths in stock, and at present, we have a compelling selection of Haut-Brion. From young to old, 2018 and 2017 could scarcely be more different. 2018 is a huge, exuberant wine, rich and ripe: Haut-Brion in extrovert mode. 2017, from a cooler growing season, is already aromatically expressive; showing attractive freshness and supple fruit.
2008 has always been an overlooked vintage, but wines with a significant Merlot content, including Haut-Brion, fared very well; decant the 2008 for an hour for a great experience. Finally, 1995 and 1998 are similar to 2008 in that the Merlot was particularly successful; Haut-Brion is sensational in both years. The 1998 especially is on the way to becoming a legendary vintage for Haut-Brion, and at 25 years old, beginning to drink beautifully.
