A few years ago, only the most devoted Burgundy fiends had heard of Domaine Bizot, a small, elusive producer in Vosne-Romanée. Today, the word has gotten out about this stellar source of red Burgundy, but the wines remain as rare as ever. Jean-Yves Bizot is a professor of winemaking in Beaune and brings an academic's eye for detail to his viticulture and winemaking.
Bizot owns around five hectares of vineyard, which he works organically. In the winery, he uses exclusively whole-cluster fruit and avoids use of sulfur dioxide until bottling. All wines are aged in 100% new oak. This distinctive approach produces some of Burgundy's most exciting wines, dazzling drinkers with their silky textures and remarkable aromatic range. We are pleased to offer three bottlings from the fresh, open 2021 vintage, meaning that you can approach any of these wines today with huge pleasure.
