If you are unfamiliar with the Boigey Frères domaine in Vosne-Romanée, don’t be alarmed. You are not alone. Formally Domaine Albert Noirot, this is a new estate, from which the first wines were bottled in 2019. Brothers Olivier and Guillaume are steadily returning family vineyards to production under their own label, rather than leasing them out. And what sites they have!
In addition to some Bourgogne Rouge, the Boigey brothers own plots in the celebrated Vosne village lieu-dit of Jachées; the magnificent Premier Cru Suchots; and arguably Nuits-St-Georges’ top Premier Cru, Boudots.
It is not every day a new domaine with these kinds of holdings arrives. The only downside is that their vineyards cover merely three hectares, ensuring bottles are a rarity. This scarcity has only been enhanced by the brilliant reception afforded to their 2022 vintage. The ‘22s are wines of great energy and dazzling Vosne class. We suggest you jump on them while they are still available.
