Affordable Pomerol

Vivian Liang | May 11, 2021

2001 – 2008 – 2014 – 2017

I have always had a soft spot for Pomerol. The 150 producers on this small plateau, with about 800 hectares planted, are producing some of the greatest expressions of Merlot you can find. Rich, velvety, fruity, and complex. The fame of Petrus, Le Pin, Lafleur has made this appellation world-renowned.

In this offer, I am recommending you a selection that will give you a glimpse into this region's style through some of the most established producers around.

Latour A Pomerol 2017 will be bright and fresh with some puppy fat still on offer.

L’Eglise Clinet 2001 is more for your indulgence with plum and violet notes and a touch of secondary fruit.

L’Evangile 2008 (under the ownership of Domaines Barons de Rothschild - of Lafite fame) will show you silky tannins and a pedigree on offer.

La Fleur Petrus 2017 is about black raspberry and blueberry notes whereas its neighbor Hosanna 2017, which is adjacent to La Fleur Petrus, will be luscious and generous with chocolate and lavender notes.
Hosanna 2017, which is adjacent to La Fleur Petrus, will be luscious and generous with chocolate and lavender notes.

Trotanoy 2014 and 2017, will bring opulence and length to your palate.

Vieux Chateau Certan 2017 will achieve the perfect blend between floral notes and a mix of dark berries characters.

Please see my selection below.
