2005 - 2010 - 2015
In Bordeaux, 2005 - 2010 - 2015, have all been fantastic vintages, each one providing perfect balance and ripeness across all appellations.
Please see below for my selection – these are my favourite wines available currently as the temperatures drop slowly here in Hong Kong.
ANGELUS 2005
An impressive Angélus that has received 100 points. It is powerful, yet so silky in texture. DRINK NOW
DOMAINE DE CHEVALIER ROUGE 2005
Multi-dimensional and concentrated, this is starting to open up nicely and displays great length. A gorgeous bottle. DRINK NOW or KEEP
LEOVILLE BARTON 2005
A classic example of a Saint-Julien balancing elegance and power. Full of blackberries, cassis and licorice. This bottle has beautifully come together and already delivers so much. DRINK NOW
COS D`ESTOURNEL 2010
In my opinion and simply put, it is one of the very best Cos d’Estournel I have tried. Dark, rich, and chocolatey. KEEP
GRAND PUY LACOSTE 2010
Black fruits, tea leaves, and graphite make this wine wonderfully complex. A little more patience will be very rewarding. KEEP
MONTROSE 2010
Arguably the best Montrose ever. Incredibly complex and refined with blackberry, mocha, and acacia notes. This wine is opulent, with an incredible length. Great ageing potential. KEEP
ANNONCE DE BELAIR MONANGE 2015
A favourite at Sotheby’s Wine, it is the second wine from the famed Bélair-Monange estate. It showcases superb luscious fruits. DRINK NOW
LANGOA BARTON 2015
Fruit purity and density, delivering a lot of instant pleasure at this early stage. Lovely and cheerful. DRINK NOW
MALESCOT SAINT EXUPERY 2015
It has a lot of character and a real sense of terroir. Smooth and balanced, this will be at its best in a couple of years. One of the best successes for this property. KEEP
PINDEFLEURS 2015
Intense, fine tannins and focus. A generous Saint-Émilion that is just starting to show itself. DRINK NOW
