Recently arrived in our cellar, the Château Margaux 2017 is exotic with its exceptional ripeness and offering notes of dark cherries, chocolate and spice. The texture is so fine, with caressing tannins. This recent release is a stylish Margaux and continues the Château’s fine run of excellent wines.
The weather was challenging in the Margaux appellation this vintage, but the First Growth rose to the challenge and crafted a sublime wine, thanks to a draconian selection of grapes. It's great to see the new technical team, Philippe Bascaules and Sebastien Vergne, continuing the legacy of the late great Paul Pontallier, producing exquisite and refined wines, so typical of Château Margaux.
On top of the 2017, we have a collection of exceptional vintages of Château Margaux on offer. From the legendary 1982, 1996 and 2000, to lesser known vintages like 1999 – which I personally love right now, it is absolutely enchanting with delicate fruits and violet notes.
