Online Exclusive: Champagne Siret

Finna Sze | April 16, 2024

Summer is quickly approaching, which means it’s time to stock up on some champagne! Today, I am pleased to offer an online exclusive from a family-owned boutique house, Champagne Siret, which I had the pleasure of visiting two years ago.

Made using the solera method, a signature of Champagne Jacques Selosse, my personal favourite from the Siret lineup is the Perpetuelle NV cuvée. The wine is a blend of eight vintages aged in barrels from 2013 to 2021 and had a total production of 1,800 bottles. It shows a pale straw colour in the glass with scents of ripe apples, red currant, toast, and walnuts. The palate is rich yet very fresh and crispy with lively acidity.

The Renaissance Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru 13-14 NV is made from 100% Chardonnay using grapes from the sites of Le Mesnil & Oger. The wine is a blend of the 2013 and 2014 vintage with only 2,800 bottles being produced. The nose shows white flowers, white peaches, and pears, followed by a touch of citrus fruits and minerality. Both elegant and delicate.

If you like rich rosé with a medium-plus body, look no further than the 2018 Rosé de Saignée. It is made from 100% Pinot Noir, full of red fruit characters, and was only produced in 1,600 bottles. 2018 is the first vintage where Siret’s rosé was made with the skin contact method.

Of course, we are also excited to offer the Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru 2013 (2,500 bottles produced) and the Blanc de Noirs 2014 (2,200 bottles produced) for the champagne connoisseur!
