Champagne Savart

The Crystalline Savart

A relative newcomer to the grower Champagne scene, Frédéric Savart has been crafting pure, terroir-driven wines since 2005. Located in the small village of Écueil (Montagne de Reims) this tiny estate of 4 hectares was founded by Frédéric’s grandfather, René Savart, who purchased his first vines in 1947. Pinot Noir takes the lion’s share here, with about 90% dedicated to this variety, cultivated organically with sélection massale across the different plots. In the cellar, their philosophy is to make wines that express a sense of place. “Hands-off” winemaking and minimal intervention are common practices.

We can offer a wide range from Frédéric Savart. Bulle de Rosé is an intensely perfumed, elegant and refined rosé from the Montagne de Reims, made from 70% Pinot Noir, 22% Chardonnay and an additional 8% Pinot Noir vinified as red wine. L’Année is the first vintage Champagne produced, a perfect harmony between Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, full of flavour with great texture and dimension while retaining beautiful acidity. Lastly, the two lieux-dits from the estate. Le Mont Des Chretiens Blanc de Blancs (100% Chardonnay) is floral and citrusy with razor sharp acidity on the palate, and Le Mont Benoît (95% Pinot Noir) is chalky and medium-bodied. Less than 2,500 bottles are produced yearly for each lieu-dit.

This is a great chance for any Champagne lover to get an introduction to Savart, one of the rising stars in Champagne!
