Online Exclusive: Delas Frères

Retail Team | February 6, 2024

Founded in 1835, Delas Frères has long been a fixture of the Northern Rhône scene. In recent decades, under the leadership of Burgundy-born winemaker Jacques Grange, it has ascended the ranks to become one of the most celebrated producers in the Rhône Valley.

Delas’ releases include some of the most prized parcels of northern and southern Rhône, from its iconic Les Bessards cuvée off the Hermitage hill to a marvelous Châteauneuf-du-Pape, not to mention the house’s sumptuous Condrieu white. “Unquestionably, the top wines here are world-class in every way,” writes Rhône expert and critic Jeb Dunnuck.

In a special online exclusive, Sotheby’s Wine is thrilled to present several of Delas’ trademark cuvées from recent vintages, including the impeccably balanced 2020s. Cuvées like the critically acclaimed 2018 La Landonne, from one of the appellation’s most renowned hills, showcase weighty power and superb aging potential.

The estate, owned by Louis Roederer, taps both estate-owned vineyards and a network of treasured growers to achieve its range. Under Grange, the domaine has switched to organic cultivation and recently moved to a cutting-edge facility in Tain-l’Hermitage, where vats are sized to suit individual Hermitage parcels and increased space means more barrels for aging. With each vintage, the wines show greater elegance and intensity, steeped in a savory, smoky profile that is a Delas signature.

This offer is valid until 29th February 2024. Wines will be ready to ship within 2-3 business days after your order is confirmed. While stocks last. E&OE.
