3 Reds - 3 Whites
Christmas is a time to reflect, indulge and get ready for next year. My way of reflecting is to prepare a list of wines that I particularly enjoyed throughout the year and re-experience the pleasure they brought to me. Here, I have selected three whites and three reds that I would love to drink this Christmas.
The whites include a refreshing and sweet 2018 Riesling by the excellent Egon Muller (a favorite of mine), a Burgundy white by the rising star Caroline Morey, and the very limited dry white by Château d'Yquem, the 2019 Y d'Yquem.
The reds include a classic 2005 Châteauneuf-du-Pape by Pegau that's drinking unbelievably well now, a very elegant 2017 Smith Haut Lafitte Rouge, and a charming 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Goulots from Fourrier.
Hoping these will become some of your favorites too. Cheers.
