Following the acclaimed international auction sale series at Sotheby’s around the world, during which The Epicurean’s Atlas auctions have broken multiple records in Hong Kong, Paris, Beaune and New York, we are delighted to follow up with a special private sale selection of fine wines from the legendary cellars of Pierre Chen.
Set apart from the tranches of stock that are being offered at auction, Sotheby’s is delighted to offer selected parcels of fine wines that have constituted personal favourites of Mr. Chen over his many years of fastidious collecting. Offered by the case, the wines celebrate two noble origins: Champagne and the great vineyards of Italy.
In Italy, we see swaths of the richly-textured, unquestionably age-worthy Amarone Della Valpolicella from Veneto’s two benchmark addresses: Giuseppe Quintarelli and Dal Forno Romano.
It is no secret that Mr. Chen is a savant of the complex tapestry of terroirs that is Champagne and its very finest wines. From full cases of the structured yet approachable 2006 Dom Pérignon, to more vinous excellence in the form of Krug Clos du Mesnil 1998 and Collection 1989, these are surely among the most convincing of Champagne releases of the past four decades.
This is without doubt a rare opportunity to acquire wines that have struck a chord with one of the wine world’s greatest aesthetes. Be sure not to delay in registering your interest.
