2015 Bordeaux is above all a joyful vintage. The wines exude health, with their heady red fruit flavors and juicy palates. They are truly a joy to drink, and, at ten years old, beginning to soften nicely.
One typical and accessible example is Malescot St. Exupery, the Margaux property which has quietly been improving by leaps and bounds. A bit further north, Forts de Latour 2015 is succulent and deep and would easily be mistaken for a grand vin in a blind tasting. As for the Grand Vin, this is another monumental wine from this great terroir and a Latour for decades to come.
Over on the Right Bank, Trotanoy exhibits all the sensuality of the year and its site, along with its usual firm tannic frame; start drinking now, but there is plenty of time to run here. And around the corner in Pomerol, the velvety depths and hedonistic fruit of Le Pin dazzle; in a wonderful vintage for Merlot, this is a brilliant wine.
