Duhart Milon: A Touch of Class

Nick Jackson, MW | April 26, 2025

Château Duhart-Milon is a member of the Lafite-Rothschild family of wines; the property located just a few hundred meters further back from the river in Pauillac than its more famous sibling. The profile, though, is remarkably similar. Not here do you find the swashbuckling style of nearby Mouton-Rothschild, but instead a refined elegance and purity of cedary fruit that is so reminiscent of Lafite itself.

This accessible, fragrant style is why I would not hesitate to pull the cork on any of the famous trio of excellent recent vintages from 2018 to 2020. Of these, the extrovert 2018 may be the most open today, while the more classically profiled '19 and '20 will continue to improve over the next decade.
