A Morey Saint Denis Classic - Hubert Lignier

Vivian Liang | April 15, 2021

An All-Rounder

Domaine Hubert Lignier is located in village of Morey-Saint-Denis where the first owner Jacques Lignier purchased the first vines. Since then it has been passed down from generation to generation and is currently under the leadership of Hubert and Laurent (father and son), the fifth generation.

This Domaine is nine hectares in size and produces 24 different wines ranging from an easy-drinking Bourgogne to some top-quality Premier and Grand Cru appellations. Since 2011, only organic treatments have been used to protect the vines. The vinification and aging are tailored made to showcase the true characters of each terroir. The entire range of Lignier’s wines is extremely well-made and full of personality.

From North to South:

Gevrey-Chambertin village wine is beautiful and generous when young, where the

Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru is expressive, fine, and precise.

Morey-Saint-Denis village wine shows good structure and lovely violet scents. The
Premier Cru is a bit more austere at an early stage but will evolve into smooth and charming spiciness. The Clos de la Roche Grand Cru will only reveal its full potential with age. It is complex, intense, and dense.

Chambolle-Musigny, with vines over 50 years of age, is showing alluring and intoxicating floral scents.

Nuits-Saint-Georges, Les Saint Georges Premier Cru is opulent with dark fruits characters.

Pommard, En Brescul, shows bright red fruits and lovely minerality.

I invite you to explore our range of Hubert Lignier wines. I recommend the village range for daily enjoyment, while the top of the range will surely impress you or any of your guests.
