Experience the magic of Domaine René Rostaing, a renowned producer of extraordinary fine wines in the Côte-Rôtie region. Using traditional winemaking methods and small amounts of new oak, the estate produces limited quantities of some of the finest wines in the area. Today, René's son Pierre is at the helm of the estate, continuing his father's legacy of excellence since his retirement in 2015.
Take, for example, the classic Ampodium, made from 100% Syrah from different sites in Côte-Rôtie. This beautiful wine exhibits stunning purity on the nose, with notes of violet, black raspberries, pepper, and a touch of earth. It can be enjoyed young and is a must-try for wine lovers.
For those who enjoy a more dense and brooding wine, the single vineyard 'La Landonne,' made from 100% Syrah, is a great choice. This wine requires an additional 4 to 5 years of bottle aging to reach its full potential.
Finally, there's the rarest find of them all, the 'Côte Blonde.' This wine is made from Syrah with a small proportion of Viognier for additional perfume aromas. With only 350 cases produced annually, this full-bodied and concentrated wine is truly a gem. It boasts notes of black currant, plum, pepper, and minerality, with bright acidity and fine-grained tannins.
The 2019 is an outstanding vintage in Côte-Rôtie, producing aromatic and glorious wines in the Northern Rhône despite the searing heat and limited rainfall.
