Serena Sutcliffe, MW: In 2011, a great cigary nose of huge, deep intensity – monumental La Mission and a classic of the genre. A fantastic burst of flavour on the palate – leather and tobacco. Tremendous nostalgia here for great La Missions of history – this wine is in this vein. It will keep for half a century at least. The giant structure is matched by the massive fruit and the aromatic spices at the end are fascinating. 05/13
