Tasting Note

Nicholas Jackson, MW
Beautiful almost glycerol richness on the nose. A palate that is deep and layered and structured.
This is a wine that seems to extend in every dimension indefinitely!  Structure, depth of fruit, length - all amaze. Dry, with such concentration and authority.
A wine at ease with itself but just waiting to unfurl.  This will be - it already is! - an epic La Mission.  The finish: so peaty and smoky - is one that you want to go on tasting forever. Quite heavenly.

Jamie Ritchie
Fleshy, rich, powerful and structured. Lots of red and black fruit on the nose: currants, cherries, berries. Luscious, sumptuous texture that envelopes
concentrated, dense black fruit, a significant amount of tannin, oak and the alcohol. Multi-layered and very complex, it has a rich unctuous finish of lead pencil, cedar, cigar and tobacco with blackcurrants and black cherries. Great harmony combines all these ingredients into a refined, but massive, wine.
