Tasting Note
Nicholas Jackson, MW
Ample fruit but that’s not the point: it is just the outerwear for the tremendous, graphite, mineral core of the wine. This is already profound. What a statement of possibility: of what the best sites in Pomerol can achieve. It’s strange that while there’s so much fruit, it’s not the focus: the ripeness of the fruit is the enabler for the expression of terroir - which is what it’s all about. Without doubt a legendary Trotanoy.

Violets, red currants, black currants. Healthy, juicy, deep, rich and powerful. Very complete and harmonious with lots of weight, power and richness. Multi-layered with depth and complexity. A very big wine that combines rich succulent fruit, a lot of tannin and fresh acidity. It is very dense and powerful, but complete and will be very long lived. Finishes with spice, chocolate and coffee. A massive wine and a top class Trotanoy.
