Tasting Note
Nicholas Jackson, MW
The nose is quiet at present but those exotic flavours are waiting in the wings. An all enveloping velvety texture coats the palate. Quite classical in its proportions but so immensely seductive! The spice bazaar is here in all its multi-dimensional splendour. A wine of immense suppleness; of texture, of place. Pure, unabashed, glorious Pichon that recollects the great vintages of the 1980s, and the best Pichon for years - perhaps decades.

Vibrancy and scented nose with layers of supple black fruits. Cassis, blackcurrant, plums with a coffee bean and mocha lift. Silky and flowing this has an effortless expanse and power. Incredibly svelte and sexy, that is deceptively powerful and composed - the feminine to Latour the masculine. A very pure and layered core of cassis, blackcurrant and chocolate fruit on the palate. Cashmere like with great power and juicy tannins that are balanced with an energy and freshness. Great glycerol structure retains the classic seductive character. A great Pichon.
