Tasting Note

Wine Advocate: 93-95

The second vintage vinified in the Caze family's new winery, the 2021 Lynch-Bages unwinds in the glass with aromas of minty cassis, sweet berries, loamy soil, black truffle and cigar wrapper, framed by nicely integrated new oak. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and muscular, it's a serious, layered, powerful, youthfully structured wine that will come together beautifully with maturation in barrel.

Sotheby's Wine: 92-94

Good intensity of blackcurrants and black cherries. Fresh, bright fruit. Very Cabernet. Medium weight with good intensity, concentration, and dimension. Finishes with a mineral, cedar, and lead pencil. Harmonious and balanced with plenty of tannins, covered by the fruit. Refreshing acidity and modest alcohol. The LB team used their new winery to good effect and have crafted an excellent expression of the Lynch Bages terroir and a very successful 2021. - Jamie Ritchie
