Frédéric is crafting Champagne with identity far from the standardization of taste, reflecting the expression of a certain grape from a specific terroir. His wines are showing refined elegance of Pinot Noir and the energy of Chardonnay.

Based in Écueil, Montange de Reims, the estate was first founded by René Savart who bought his first vines in 1947. His son Daniel began making the wine in the 1970s and the estate expanded a great deal in the 1980s. Daniel is still present, but Frédéric took over in 2005.

4 ha. are farmed across Écueil (3 ha., chalk and sand vary) and Villiers-aux-Noeuds (1 ha., more chalk-dominant, closer to Reims), with Pinot Noir dominating almost entirely; Frédéric believes that Pinot is the grape that shines brightest in Écueil. The famed, mass-selected Pinot Fin d'Ecueil is found in Villiers-aux-Noeuds and was tended by René and Daniel. Chardonnay makes up 0.5 ha. overall. Biodynamic principles are behind the high disease resistance of the plants.
