Tucked amongst a century-old vineyard in what many now consider the ‘Grand Cru’ of Colchagua in Chile, Clos Apalta’s emblematic Bordeauxblend is one of the most iconic wines of the Southern Hemisphere.
Since its inception in 1997, the Marnier-Lapostolle family has dedicated generations of French expertise to sculpting wines of great concentration and finesse from their exceptional terroir in Apalta. A mosaic of fine granitic soils, layered with weathering clay brings a particular aromatic complexity to their silky, seductive wines. The result is a stunning Bordelais blend of Carmenère, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, a celebrated Chilean benchmark of ground-breaking acclaim.
Today, seventh-generation Charles de Bournet runs this leading biodynamic estate, punctuated by the official recognition of the Apalta DO in 2018. Renowned oenologist Michel Rolland consults, in what is notably his sole endeavor in Chile.
