Founded in 1826, Glendronach is celebrated for its rich sherry-cask whiskies. Alongside its classic 21, 30, and 40-year-old expressions, Sotheby’s Wine proudly presents The Glendronach 56 Year Old – the oldest ever bottled by the distillery.
Distilled on 24th September 1968, this whisky spent decades in Oloroso sherry butts, developing deep notes of dark fruit and oak, before being moved to Pedro Ximénez hogsheads on 25th August 2014 for added sweetness and complexity. The result is a luxurious harmony of antique wood, tobacco, and honeyed dried fruits.
On the palate, layers of black cherry, cacao, and caramelised date unfold into a silky finish of dark chocolate and oud wood. Bottled in extremely limited quantities, the 56-Year is not just a whisky – it’s a rare piece of Glendronach history, crafted with patience and tradition.
Alongside this extraordinary bottle, Sotheby’s Wine is also delighted to offer Glendronach’s classic aged expressions: 21 Year, 30 Year, and 40 Year – each a testament to the distillery’s dedication to tradition and time.
