Founded in 1895 at Elgin, Speyside, Gordon & MacPhail remains one of Scotland’s most revered independent bottlers. Family-owned to this day, the house is distinguished by its unparalleled, extensive library of aged casks and its long-standing relationships with many of Scotland’s most iconic distilleries.
Among these, only one is granted the exclusive label “Speymalt from Macallan Distillery” – a designation that honours a century-old partnership between Gordon & MacPhail and Macallan.
The Speymalt range represents a unique interpretation of Macallan: the spirits are matured in sherry casks specifically commissioned for this series, with many of the releases originating from vintages distilled prior to Macallan’s stylistic transition in the 1980s, offering a rare glimpse into the distillery’s classic “old-school” sherried profile that is enhanced by Gordon & MacPhail’s distinctive approach to maturation and bottling.
This week, we are delighted to present a curated selection of G&M Speymalt Macallan, featuring exceptional back vintages dating as far as 1945 and 1950, alongside more recent single cask expressions – truly remarkable drams not to be missed.
