Few names in Gevrey-Chambertin command as much admiration among connoisseurs as Domaine Fourrier. Since taking the reins in 1994, Jean-Marie Fourrier – once an apprentice of the legendary Henri Jayer – has established the family domaine with his distinctive, low-intervention style that marries precision and fruit purity.
Jean-Marie’s winemaking philosophy is a commitment to transparency and minimal intervention: Fermentation relies on native yeasts, extraction is gentle, and the use of new oak and sulfites is kept to a minimum. The wines are neither fined nor filtered, allowing each bottle to shine through with remarkable clarity, vibrancy, and terroir expression.
In recent years, Jean-Marie has further expanded his négociant venture, bringing some of the most celebrated parcels across Gevrey-Chambertin and Vosne-Romanée to his outstanding portfolio.
At Sotheby’s Wine, we are proud to present an extensive selection from both Domaine Fourrier and Jean-Marie Fourrier, which encompasses some of our personal favourites, including the velvety and profoundly expressive Clos-Saint-Jacques, the lively and energetic Morey-Saint-Denis Clos Solon, as well as a rare vertical of the iconic Chambertin Grand Cru.
