As wine and spirits enthusiasts, we are always excited about uncovering gems that are shaped by passion, terroir, and craftsmanship. Lambay Whiskey, a spirit born from a remarkable partnership on one of Ireland’s most exceptional natural habitats, is the perfect example of harmony between age-old expertise and innovation.
The collaboration began in 2018 between the two storied lineages: Camus, the renowned family-owned Cognac house, and the Baring Family, custodians of Lambay Island since 1904. Named after the naturally diverse Lambay Island, an off-grid paradise of wildlife situated just 3 miles off the Dublin coastline, Lambay Whiskey draws its character from a setting unlike any other.
Lambay whiskeys are independently sourced and bourbon barrel-matured. Thanks to the island’s unique maritime micro-climate, the whiskeys develop a distinctive profile of salinity and complexity through maturation. Each whiskey is then finished in hand-selected Camus Cognac casks, adding greater layering of flavours, sweetness, and roundness.
This latest release of Lambay Whiskey features 3 premium bottlings, headlined by the 20-Year-Old Castle Prestige Edition – the first age-statement single malt in Lambay’s portfolio.
This limited-edition bottling represents the pinnacle of Lambay’s philosophy: a triple-distilled whiskey matured in the Sea Cask Room on the Lambay Island, and finished for an additional 2 years in the Camus Cognac casks. The result is a timelessly elegant whiskey that blends the fruit, structure, and richness of Cognac with the unique maritime influence of the local terroir. A refined liquid that sets Lambay apart.
