Jamie Ritchie: 54% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot. 38 hl/hectare including frost area. 55% Palmer. Spicy, refined, compact and complex nose. Glossy and inviting. Very fresh, silky, seductive, velvety fruit which has concentration and complexity with depot and richness. Lovely bright, juicy fruit with amazing freshness. Beautiful lift and brightness at the finish. Blackcurrant, graphite, mineral finish. Great lift at the finish and great length. A really outstanding Palmer and one of the wines of the vintage. Combines elegance, silkiness and power, Superb. Sweetness of fruit at the finish.
Adam Bilbey: 54% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot. An energy and freshness to the nose with aromatics that jump out of the glass. Blackberry, bramble, mulberry and a menthol forest floor edge. Delicacy, purity and a lovely cashmere like flow. A wonderful nose! Elegance and poise. to the palate, with a pure blackberry and kirsch core and gentle lift and grip from the very fine tannins. Focussed, defined with a seamless texture, a delicacy and an attention to detail that many few have this year. Deceptively powerful and almost Burgundian (Bonnes Mares) like. One of the wines of the vintage. 95-96
