  • Haut Brion Blanc, Pessac-Leognan futures

Tasting Note

Bordeaux Futures. Wine currently held in Bordeaux. Estimated arrival in the US: fall 2021. Only available in 6 bottle original wooden cases.

Serena Sutcliffe, MW
80.6% Sauvignon, 19.4% Sémillon.  This has a higher proportion of Sauvignon than in any recent vintage.  Immediately one sees the refined Sauvignon on the nose, fresh and up front.  Gentle, sweet gooseberries on the palate, smooth and silky.  Rich and elegant and not “typically” HBB – but lovely all the same!

Nicholas Jackson, MW
A record high proportion of Sauvignon Blanc in this wine.  Beautiful lemony nose.  Immediately so smooth and all enveloping palate.  Just a touch soft around the edges.  Lovely greengages on the palate too.  Beautiful display of fruits that just fan out on the palate; so immediately appealing and attractive, if unlikely to be the longest lived Haut Brion Blanc.

Victor Rabot
A very high proportion of Sauvignon Blanc, with notes of ripe lemon and tropical fruit with a delicate oak touch. A good tension with a remarkable finish.
