2017 Figeac Saint Emilion

  • Figeac Saint Emilion futures

Tasting Note

Serena Sutcliffe, MW: Cabernet Sauvignon 47%, Merlot 43%, Cabernet Franc 10%, their lowest quantity of the variety. 22 hl/ha. 100% new oak. Only 48,000 bottles of Figeac made. This has a real nose of the cru, showing that terroir over grape variety comes through in the best growths. Intense, even a bit voluptuous and very black fruit, all through. A terrific kernel of cassis and black cherries on the palate. The tannins are refined, with impressive fruit, clarity and harmony. What an achievement.
Jamie Ritchie: Lovely texture, weight and depth, combined with freshness. Supple on the palate with good weight, depth and density. Very balanced and harmonious with nice purity. Finishes with detailed bright fruit, liquorice, graphite and fine tannins. Another very fine Figeac.
