Serena Sutcliffe, MW
58.2% Merlot, 28.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9.7% Cabernet Franc, 3.6% Petit Verdot.  Softly, densely aromatic on the nose.  A thick texture on the palate, very plum compote – it really lines the interior of the mouth, with real sweetness at the end.

Nicholas Jackson, MW
A bit more structure and intensity than the Chapelle, with excellent acidity and clarity.  Quite powerful and will resolve into a very classic Clarence, dry and cedary.  In the context of the vintage, quite a dry wine.  But I love that deep cigar scent - this really is a little Haut Brion.

Adam Bilbey
A little more expanse and lift to the nose than the Chapelle. Glossy blackcurrant and black cherry fruit with a liquorice edge. An overriding freshness and this flows through to the svelte and cashmere like palate. Very well formed with a striking core of black fruit and weight that you rarely see in Clarence. Tannins are structured but well balanced with the fruit. A little more linear than the La Chapellle with a spice and mocha finish from the oak. Well done.
