Italy

What we love about Italy is the great diversity of the wines, with their indigenous grape varieties, and so we are always looking for the best examples from each region, whether in a modern or traditional style. While our hearts may lie with the Nebbiolo in Piedmont in the North, we also enjoy the Sangiovese in Tuscany, along with the Super Tuscans, all the way down to the Nerello Mascalese in Sicily. When you eat Italian food, you need Italian wine!

Nicholas Jackson: Little brother to Guado al Tasso, this is a juicy, supple and easy drinking red from the Tuscan coast. Cabernet Sauvignon predominates, with some Merlot and a touch of Syrah. Perfect for a casual meal, this is one of our house favourites.

Nicholas Jackson: juicy, cedary, spicy.  Quite a lot of wine for the money.  Dry, savoury and very authentic.
