I've written before about how Pomerol produces the most irresistible wines of Bordeaux. Not here the occasional dryness and austerity of the Left Bank. Pomerol's magic consists in lushly textured, hedonistic Merlot that is perennially alluring to Bordeaux lovers.
In our current inventory, Gravette de Certan (from Vieux Chateau Certan) is always an outstanding value second wine; mature Eglise Clinet from the '90s is a rare treat and Hosanna still flies under the radar for the quality it offers. Not under the radar are the great names of Trotanoy, Lafleur and Petrus: icons of Pomerol, and for good reason.
