St. Aubin’s Superstar: Hubert Lamy

Bourgogne Blanc - St. Aubin - Chassagne-Montrachet

Value and White Burgundy are not often phrases seen in the same sentence, but one sure-fire source of affordable and compelling white Burgundy is Domaine Hubert Lamy. These whites are everything you want from the region: tense, nervy and mineral.

While Olivier Lamy has holdings across the Cote de Beaune, it’s the St. Aubin wines that are most regularly seen and which offer such a good price-quality ratio. St. Aubin, a small village tucked away on one side of the Cote, gives wines of good concentration but without ever losing finesse and precision.

In the extensive selection available here, the 2015s are open and ready to drink; the 2016s a touch riper and more generously fruited; the 2017s more chiselled and focused. Do not sleep either on the reds: these are perfumed and elegant examples of red Burgundy.
