Roederer and Cristal: Sublime Champagne

Cristal - Vinotheque - Brut Nature - Brut Premier
Louis Roederer sits securely among the top Grandes Marques Champagne producers, impressing drinkers with profound depth of flavor and unrivaled precision across its entire range.
Cristal, the recognizable tête de cuvée, is a powerful and concentrated wine of global recognition. Unlike many luxury bottlings, Cristal is made only from the vineyards Roederer owns and painstakingly farms to a rigorous standard. The Cristal Vinoteque series is an exclusive release of just a few hundred bottles held back in the Roederer caves to showcase that special window at 20 years, when the shining maturity and full expression of Cristal reveals itself.

Designer Philippe Starck has collaborated with the house on a bone-dry vintage bottling now in its third iteration. The fantastic conditions of 2012 complement the vision for the line: an especially fresh wine from clay soils in a warm year.

The Champagne I select when looking for a crowd-pleasing and unbeatable value is Brut Premier. The subtle vinous notes and pure attraction to its flavors remind me why Louis Roederer has been able to remain an independent family-run house since 1776.
