Our Top Picks from Margaux

Sensuous and Silky
Never the most powerful but usually the most elegant, the wines of the Margaux appellation are Left Bank superstars, showing sensuous aromas and a silky texture. Moreover, they are consistently more affordable than their northern neighbours in St. Julien, Pauillac or St. Estèphe.
Our range spans the gamut, from starry vintages of Château Margaux to more everyday options. Somewhere in the middle, I draw particular attention to Rauzan-Ségla and Brane-Cantenac, both producing gorgeous wines today. I also have a weakness for the well-priced and delicious Issan. In terms of vintages, Margaux wines tend to be a bit more accessible when younger than other Médoc wines. The 2015s are already giving a lot of pleasure, while 2009s and 2010s are singing today.
