Celebrate Mother's Day

Sotheby's Wine Retail Team | May 2, 2020

Cheers to Mom!

2012 Bollinger: Grande Annee 750ml $144.95
Produced only in the most favorable of vintages, Bollinger’s “great vintage” cuvée is a testament to quality and prestige. To this day, the bottles are still carefully hand-riddled and disgorged, an homage to tradition and history. The vin clair is vinified in barrels lending a creamy and textured mouthfeel, and the Pinot Noir-led assemblage and extended aging sur lie results in aromas of ripe stone fruits and brioche balanced by chiseled minerality and focused acidity. This is a Champagne worthy of toasting to Mom!

2017 Berthaut-Gerbet: Vosne Romanee 750ml $84.95
Arguably the greatest village for Pinot Noir in the world, wines from Vosne should be at the top of any Mother’s Day list.  They typically combine the best elements of classic Burgundian Pinot – profound perfume, purity of fruit, and a perfect balance between structure and finesse. Berthaut-Gerbet’s 2017 Vosne Romanee is exemplary. A rising star in Northern Burgundy, there is an undeniable sophistication and precision to her wines. The 2017 Vosne has a nice mix of both dark fruit and exotic flavors like spice and flowers. Finish is long, complex and silky - a real standout in the village-category. A nuanced and elegant red to enjoy together.

2012 Chapoutier, M.: Hermitage Monier De La Sizeranne 750ml $144.95
Whenever I have the chance to go back to France to see my family, I always bring wines from different regions. If I could celebrate Mother’s Day with them in person this year, one of the bottles I would celebrate with would be Hermitage Sizeranne 2012 from Michel Chapoutier as Rhône has always been one of my favorite regions. A beautiful and perfumed wine with notes of dark fruits and smoked herbs, with a very long finish. This charming and elegant wine is sure to please everyone.
