Bordeaux Legend: Chateau Montrose

An Outstanding Site
Few wines on the Left Bank of Bordeaux are as elementally satisfying as Chateau Montrose. Satisfying in the sense of giving you everything you want from a Bordeaux Cabernet: structure, deep fruit and a refreshingly dry finish, ensuring you always want another glass.
The magic of Montrose is its outstanding location, as close to the river as any property on the Left Bank.  The deep gravel soils are ideal for ripening Cabernet, especially in hot summers, where Montrose’s powerful style really comes into its own.  Check out the 2003, 2005 or 2015 vintages if you doubt me: these are epic wines.  And if you prefer a slightly lighter style, cooler vintages such as 2014, 2012, 2008 or 1998 showcase the gravelly, saline quality that is such a signature of this great estate.
