All American All Stars

Nicholas Jackson, MW | July 23, 2019

Harlan - Bond - Colgin - Scarecrow

July is America’s month, and just like most other things this country has turned its hand to, it has excelled at winemaking. Nowhere more so than in the Napa Valley, where, as everywhere in the wine world, the best wines rely on their unique terroir to excel.

Bill Harlan has a vision to create America’s greatest terroir-driven Cabernet Sauvignon wines in Napa. Harlan itself has a unique and aristocratic taste; an imprint of its brilliant location above Oakville. His Bond project takes a number of different Napa sites and bottles each individually. Pluribus (St. Helena) and Vecina (Yountville) are consistently among the most rewarding - especially in a great vintage like 2013.

For other Cabernet terroirs in Napa, try Colgin’s IX Estate (Pritchard Hill) or the sumptuousScarecrow (Rutherford). The greatest wines from the greatest American sites: now that’s worth celebrating.

American perfection.
