2015 White Burgundy

Drouhin - Sauzet - Chavy

Over the past year, every conversation I’ve had on the topic of White Burgundy subsequently leads to a discussion (more like a celebration) of the generous, stellar 2015 harvest. The warm, sunny and dry growing season produced Burgundy’s most luxuriant and opulent white wines in recent memory. And while this may not sound quite like the classic Burgundian-expression some of you are accustomed to, fret not -  the wines, most notably from iconic vignerons like Morey and Sauzet, among others, still showcase the radiant tension, energy and precision we all adore and admire about quintessential Burgundian Chardonnay.
2015 White Burgundy caters and offers approachability to both the disconcerting classicist and those who prefer the more modern, generous approach of Californian-Chardonnay. It is surely a vintage we’ll look back on and appreciate its “catch-all” personality. Act quickly, however - quantities are diminishing and limited.
