Domaine Fourrier

Jean-Marie-Fourrier has been in charge of Domaine Fourrier since 1994 and the reputation of this superb Domaine has been growing each and every year since then, so much so that now the wines are highly allocated. His strict criteria means that only fruit from vines older than 30 years of age is used and new oak is carefully limited at around 20%. The results of his work are wines of great character with both a purity and a sense of where they are from. His wines are marked by energetic fruit, well-integrated oak and layers of flavours - but never overwhelming. There is an energy and finesse that has captivated all Burgundy lovers.

We have just received our allocation of the much lauded 2015 vintage as well as his new merchant label under Jean Marie Fourrier, which offers excellent choices of quality wines at affordable prices.

Fourrier, Domaine: Morey Saint Denis, Clos Solon

We are big fans of Jean-Marie Fourrier’s wines, as they embody what we like about Burgundy – pure fruit and a natural expression of the terroir. Jean-Marie, who has been running the Domaine since 1994, sells off all grapes from vines under 30 years of age and never uses more than 20% new oak. His philosophy is summed up as, quot;What ends up in the glass is a pure expression of terroir with as little interference as possible by the winemaker.quot;

Serena Sutcliffe, MW: "This has blissful crunchy fruit, utterly tempting wine that can be drunk from a relatively young age, if resistance becomes impossible!" 09/13
