As compared with his wines of Crozes Hermitage, Graillot de-stems 100% of his grapes from St. Joseph allowing for a lighter, juicier, more immediately approachable variety of syrah with light tannin reminiscent of a good Bourgogne Rouge. Cherry, raspberry, medium weight and fun. Another example of Alain Graillot’s efforts to reshape the Northern Rhone appellations with consistently high level wines. This is worth comparing to Yves Cuillerons Pierres Seches 2007.
