The Côtes du Castillon is located east of St. Émilion, and just like its neighboring Right Bank appellations the wines are dominated by Merlot. These wines offer great value, easily acting as a stunt double for any of the St. Émilion satellites. Youthful, strawberry aroma in the glass; robust, fruitful flavor with a bit of that great Right Bank plum skin and raisin finish. Paired especially well with a Middle Eastern inspired lamb meatball dish. 10/10
