Fontodi`s straight Chianti Classico is usually a match for (or better than) all the others. Yes, it is a little bit more expensive, but it is always reassuringly good and very typical of the genuine top class Chianti style. The Sangiovese is bright, full of tart cherries and spice - there is always great acidity, but also lots of ripe fruit.
